1)A lifelong development disability that affects how a person communicates with and related to other people.
2)Affects how they make sense of the world
3)Effects 700,000 people in the UK and 4 times more prevelant in men over women.
4)1/3 people with learning difficulty may also have autism
5) Aspergers is a form of autism.
What are the causes of Autism?
Genetic influence are more likely to be the main cause but not the only cause- twin theory.Not related to bad parenting food allergies or vaccines
What is the spectrum of autism?
It affects social interactions,communication,behaviour and motor and sensory function. Also likely to be linked to intelligence.
What are the different characteristics and symptoms of autism?
Social characersistc- understanding and function of facial expression, tone of voice,eye contact body language,muteness and inappropriate social approach to others,bizzare elaborate and repetitive routines

The ability to understand the emotives of themselves and others is not good – social intelligence score – understand the emotion from ppls eyes,
SOCIAL IMAGINATION
THE ABILITY TO COMPREHEND ABSTRACT IDEAS and others actions,emotions and behaviour outside of an individuals routine.
Theory of the mind
the ability to understand the desires and intentions and beliefs of others and is a skill that develops with time between 3-5.people with autism have not fully developed this fully.
