Drugs used in acute gout.
A
- NSAIDS— Indimethacin (DOC), Naproxen, Piroxicam, Diclofenac, Etoricoxib
- Colchicine ( Inhibits release of chemotavtic factors and migration of leukocytes to the inflammed joints)
- Corticosteroids- If only 1-2 joints are involved, intraarticular Triamcenolone can be given. Systemic steroids (Prednisone) given only when patient cannot tolerate NSAIDs/Colchicine or they are contraindicated (renal failure or peptic ulcer)

Treatment of Status asthmaticus.
A
- 100 mg i.v. Hydrocortisone given immediately.
Followed by 100-200 mg i.v. infusion over 4-8 hours. - Nebulized Salbutamol (5mg) + Ipratropium bromide (0.5mg) - inhalational route
- High flow oxygen inhalational
- Salbutamol/Terbutaline i.m. or s.c. because inhalational drug may not reach peripheral bronchi adequately due to plugging of airways by mucus.
- Intubation+ mechanical ventilation
- Treat chest infection with intensive antibiotic therapy
- Correct acidosis by Sod bicarbonate
