A

A dietary tool that helps consumers choose between foods containing carbohydrates. It is a ranking of foods containing carbohydrates based on their overall effect on the blood glucose levels. Foods are ranked from 1 to 100. Foods with a low GI provide sustained energy for a longer period of time
1 to 55 is low GI
56 to 69 are mid
70 and above are high GI
