Coastal Lowlands
A
- Very narrow plain composed of marine sediments and alluvial floodplains
- The eastern plain is long and narrow, broken by mountainous ridges

A
- lie between the highland and plateau and extend to the Southern Ocean
- Composed of sedimentary rocks
- Only just above sea level

Great Western Plateau
A
- Occupies the western third of the country
- Huge block called the Pre-Cambrian Shield
- Surface is dominated by arid and semi-arid features - e.g. hamada and gibber

Eastern Highlands
A
- Highest land in Australia
- Extends more than 3000 km along the east coast including Tasmania
- Combination of hills, mountains, river valleys, and tablelands
