the australian dietary guidelines are based on the latest scientific evidence and give dietary advice on eating, health and wellbeing. The aim of these guidelines is to reduce the risk of diet related diseases and some types of cancers amongst the Australian population.
guideline 1
to achieve and maintain a health weight, be physically active and choose amounts of nutritious foods and drinks to meet your energy needs.

enjoy a wide variety of nutritious foods from all five food groups:
- vegetables, fruits, grains, lean meats and poultry and dairy products

limit intake of foods containing saturated fat, added salt, added sugars and alcohol.
