Who were the key individuals and groups involved in the federation discussion?

A

Many Colonists were involved in helping shape Australia in the way it needed to be. They saw the Australia was a land with a promising future. However, with every colonist, feminist, union trade leader our journalist, all the many ordinary men and women played important roles too.

A

Some people were for federation as they wanted to unite and become a whole nation. Other were against this because they had a sense of their own private national identity. There was conflicts between different colonies and some were set on staying loyal to the British crown.

How did Australia change between settlement and federation?

A

Australia became more spacious and had more land become cities where nations were rising up. Federation caused states to be formed which split apart Australia. Australia started to be better known, it’s landscape was noticed. Australia was just another piece of land until federation caused it to go on its way to become a nation. It’s became a young, new and developing nation.

How has federation impacted modern day Australia?

A

If it was not for federation then Australia would not be the strong and proud country that it is today. Federation was the back bone of Australia’s uprising in the world. Because of this, Australia was able to develop the right way and have the right needs and have the right wants to ensure, as a nation, they would stay standing tall.
