Generally the climate is cool and maritime, there are exceptions though.

	*  Tamar Valley is a warmer region in the northern Tasmania, protected from the cold Southern Ocean - compared to the neighboring region Piper's River that is much cooler, harvesting is done 14 days earlier.
	*  Southern Tasmania is generally cooler than northern Tasmania, with the exception of Coal Valley, a sheltered valley with the warmest climate of the island.
