“All men are implicated in Adam’s sin, as all are implicated in Christ’s justice”
“It is a sin ‘contracted’ not ‘committed’- a state and not an act”
How is Original Sin a double death?
Humans killed their friendship with God and became mortal.
What effect does Original Sin have on society?
Gives them a need for forceful political authority to prevent people behaving according to their sinful natures. There is a lack of stability and a corruption in all human societies.

Doctor of Grace
What were Pelagius’ thoughts on human nature and sin?
Humans could not have a flawed nature, because it would be impossible to be holy. God would demand the impossible.
Sin is only sin if it is freely chosen. It must be theoretically possible not to sin. We are all created in Adam’s state and only responsible for our personal sin.
