What does the BBFC do?
- BBFC is responsible for giving films their censorship classification, e.g. U, PG, 12A, 12, 15, 18 based on content
- Designed to prevent young children from viewing content that is unsuitable for them
What does the ASA do?
- They ensure that adverts do not mislead consumers
- They listen to consumer complaints about adverts and rule if the adverts have broken the Advertising Codes

- They make sure that editors follow the code of practice to maintain high professional standards
- They handle complaints about the press industry
