the group of people the product is directed at

race, age etc
psychographic
things people can control about themselves and can be easily changed
people’s opinions
segmentation
grouping the target audience into smaller segments based on demographics/psychographics
identification
identifying suitability for the audience and their qualities
producer creating an “imaginary entity” for their product
opinion leaders
influencers, people who can sway the public opinion
two step flow model (meaning)
theory that suggests information and opinions pass through opinion leaders who spread it to others instead of media flowing straight through to the public
primary audience
the direct category of who a product is aimed at
secondary audience
people influenced into using the product by the primary audience
eg: ring camera doorbell, primary = parents
(they buy it) secondary = child (they have the app to use it)
tertiary audience
people who will indirectly be influenced by your product but not purposefully
what did maslow’s hierachy show
humans need the things from the bottom of the pyramid to survive and be able to have the things above
(can’t have the top of a pyramid without the bottom)
