Sec 6.4
Whenever a reserve apparatus is activated or otherwise intrusted to the care of
another unit, the officer on duty of the unit, wherein the reserve apparatus is stored,
must prepare what form ? Who will sign it where are the copies kept ?
RT-2 (two copies). The RT-2 must list all the tools and
equipment assigned to the reserve apparatus
Member taking the apparatus will sign and return one copy of the RT-2 to the
officer. The other copy is to remain with the apparatus.
Sec 7.5.2
Upon return of a reserve apparatus to storage the officer on duty, in unit at which
the apparatus is stored, must compare the outstanding RT-2 with the tools and
equipment being returned with the apparatus. If any item is found to be missing the
officer shall:
A. Immediately notify, by telephone, the administrative battalion chief.
Battalion chief is to notify the administrative division.
B. Record the particulars in the company journal.
C. Prepare and forward a report, to the Chief of Department, documenting the
missing items and explaining the circumstances of the loss. The report will
be forwarded through the chain of command, with full endorsements at each
level of command.
Sec 7.5.3
7.5.5 Officer placed in charge of a reserve apparatus, while it is not in storage, is
responsible for all tools and equipment assigned to that apparatus. If anything is missing upon return to its quarters, who is responsible for a lost property report ?
Such officer
will be responsible for complying with the regulations regarding reporting lost
department property if any tool and/or equipment assigned to that apparatus is lost
while apparatus is under his/her custody.
Sec 7.5.5
The reserve apparatus is stocked with tools which include HT’s and SCBA’s for members assigned to unit. Agree or Disagree

Division Commanders shall prepare and be responsible for the rapid provision of Handitalkies
and masks upon activation of reserve apparatus, as such items are ** NOT INCLUDED **
among regular equipment for these units.
