Attachment
An emotional tie/relationship between two people shown in their behaviour.
Reciprocity
Caregiver-infant interactions;a mutual process with the matching of actions in two people(turn taking).
International synchrony
The response in synchronised and rhythmic behaviour between a speaker and a listener during interaction.
Indiscriminate attachments
The tendency of an individual to form an attachment to any available caregiver or support ;regardless of the quality and sustainability of them.
Indiscriminate attachments
At around 6 months,infants start to recognise specific caregivers responses to their distress and shape their behaviours accordingly. eg. smile,babble.
Discriminate/Specific attachments
From about seven to eleven months of age, infants show a strong attachment and preference for one specific individual and show signs of anxiety.Also show fear to strangers.
Multiple attachments
10-11 months onwards the baby shows attachment behaviours to multiple people.eg. siblings,grandparents.
