Outline the stages of developing communication

A

1-4 weeks: baby led communication. Crying is used as a signal that the baby wants something from caregiver
1 month: the baby now smilies and begins to respond to parenting behaviour through matching actions
5 month: baby shows clear cycle of attention and non attention.
