Ducks split into 2 groups half stayed with biological mother half with human researcher wearing yellow wellies. After 2 days all put back together yet those with the human still followed the human rather than their mother. Showed the critical period for attachment is 2 days.

Rhesus monkeys, 2 wire ‘mothers’, one with cloth on. Alternated putting the milk with the wire one and the cloth one, but even if the milk was put with the wire one they were still attached to the cloth one. Theory of contact comfort explained.
