Atrial Dysrthy Flashcards
Atrial Dysrthy caused by? (3)
1) automaticity
2) triggered activity
3) reentry
Atrial Dys affects heart how?
↓ vent fill time
↓ atrial kick
Atrial Dys key ECG characteristics?
Abn P-waves
Adn PR Intervals
Narrow/normal QRS
Wandering Pacemaker is?
ECG appearance?
pacemaker site moves b/w SA/Atria/AV Jxn
Varying P-Waves, varying PR Intervals
Premature Atrial Complexes (PAC) are?
Early impulse origination outside of SA node
PAC ECG findings:
Rate?
Rhyth?
P-wave?
PR Interval?
QRS?
QT Interval?
Rate = depends on rhythm
Rhyth = irregular
P-wave = up/inverted, diff morphology
PR Interval = short/long/normal
QRS = normal
QT Interval = normal range
Noncompensatory Pause is?
Pause w/ < 2 full R-R Intervals b/w R-wave of normal beat preceding PAC and R-wave of 1st normal beat after PAC
Atrial Tachy is?
Fast atrial rate from single point that overrides SA Node
Atrial Tachy findings:
Rate?
Rhyth?
P-wave?
PR Interval?
QRS?
QT Interval?
Rate = 150 - 250
Rhyth = regular
P-wave = up/down/abn
PR Interval = short/normal/hidden
QRS = normal
QT Interval = normal range
Multifocal Atrial Tachy is?
ECG findings?
Atrial tachy w/ multiple foci of rate
(S) to Wandering PM but faster
Rate = 120 - 150 bpm
Rhyth = irreg
PR Int = vary
Supravent Tachy?
Includes parox SV tachy, nonparox atrial tachy, multifocal atrial tachy
Arises above vents but can’t identify if atrial or jxn’l because of unclear P-Waves
Atrial Flutter is?
SV tachy w/ single origin in atria
Atrial rate 250-350
Atrial Flutter findings:
Rate?
Rhyth?
P-wave?
PR Interval?
QRS?
QT Interval?
Rate: Atrial = 250-350, Vent = any
Rhyth = any
P-wave = flutter waves
PR Interval = unmeasurable
QRS = normal
QT Interval = unmeasurable
Atrial Flutter: Vent Rate measured how?
AV impulse to Vent conduction ratio
e.g. 3:1
Atrial Fib is?
chaotic/asynch firing from multiple foci in atria,
Φ atrial kick -> ↓ CO
(P) development of atrial emboli (blood stagnates)
