ATP Flashcards
ATP
What does ATP Before/During Charging do?
Provides adaptive ATP therapy based on the prior success of ATP before and during charging
How does ATP before charging work?
A round of ATP is delivered before charging for a shock begins, then if ATP is unsuccessful, a second round of ATP is delivered during charging
How is this feature nominally programmed?
Programmed nominally to ATP during charging, but will adapt to ATP before charging with ATP success
What is the benefit of using ATP before charging?
ATP before charging allows for two rounds of ATP before a shock is delivered and additional time for arrhythmia to break on its own. It can also help conserve the battery.
What could hinder the complete ATP sequence from occurring?
If the device has a low initial shock energy the charge time may not be sufficient to allow for a full round of ATP.
When will ATP be delivered?
ATP will only be delivered If the criteria is met specified by the programmable feature “Deliver ATP if last 8 R-R intervals are >/= .
What should you do if ATP was not delivered for an episode of VT because the rate was too fast?
Decrease the interval for “Deliver ATP if the last 8 R-R intervals are >/=.
What happens when FVT and ATP during charging are programmed at the same rates?
FVT zone will take preference
What is the Chargesaver option?
Allows device to switch from ATP Before Charging to ATP During Charging.
When does this change occur?
When an arrhythmia is terminated on a programmable consecutive number of events during charging.
What are the nominal settings for Chargesaver?
On and one success will switch programming to ATP Before Charging
What is the switchback feature?
A non-programmable feature that monitors the success of ATP Before Charging and changes back to ATP during charging after two unsuccessful attempts.
