Q

How does ATP before charging work?

A

A round of ATP is delivered before charging for a shock begins, then if ATP is unsuccessful, a second round of ATP is delivered during charging

Q

How is this feature nominally programmed?

A

Programmed nominally to ATP during charging, but will adapt to ATP before charging with ATP success

Q

What is the benefit of using ATP before charging?

A

ATP before charging allows for two rounds of ATP before a shock is delivered and additional time for arrhythmia to break on its own. It can also help conserve the battery.

Q

What could hinder the complete ATP sequence from occurring?

A

If the device has a low initial shock energy the charge time may not be sufficient to allow for a full round of ATP.

6
Q

When will ATP be delivered?

A

ATP will only be delivered If the criteria is met specified by the programmable feature “Deliver ATP if last 8 R-R intervals are >/= .

7
Q

What should you do if ATP was not delivered for an episode of VT because the rate was too fast?

A

Decrease the interval for “Deliver ATP if the last 8 R-R intervals are >/=.

Q

What is the switchback feature?

A

A non-programmable feature that monitors the success of ATP Before Charging and changes back to ATP during charging after two unsuccessful attempts.
