Primary pollutant
This kind of pollutant are emitted directly from the source
Secondary pollutant
This kind of pollutant isn’t emitted through the air, instead the are formed by a primary pollutant combining with a mother substance
Examples of primary pollutants
Carbon dioxide, transportation
Examples of secondary pollutants
Sulfur dioxide, acid rain
Atmospheric pressure
Measured in millibars, it is the measure of weight of air above so it decreases as altitude increases
Troposphere
Weather occurs here, temperatures decrease as altitude increases
Stratosphere
Temperature begins to increase due to ozone
Mesosphere
Temperature decreases
Thermosphere
Temperature increases due to solar radiation
Summer solstice
First day of summer, June 21-22, the sun is vertical at 23.5 degrees north
Winter solstice
