ATA 21 Environmental Control Systems Flashcards
How many condition packs are there?
2 - each one with a three-wheel ACM
What will happen if a double pack failure occurs?
Ambient air from the ram scoop will be ducted into the air distribution system
Where is the air conditioning panel located?
On the overhead panel in the cockpit
Where do the RH conditioning pack mainly provide its air?
To the cockpit
Where do the LH conditioning pack mainly provide its air?
To the cabin
How is the air to the cockpit supplied?
Through two overhead inlet air boxes attached to the left and right side of the forward face of the passenger and cockpit bulkhead
How is the air to the cabin supplied?
Through the left and right overhead ducts
How is the lavatory supplied with air?
Through a tapping of the right overhead duct
To which altitude can the pressurisation system keep take-off level?
12000 ft
What is the normal operating differential pressure?
7,0 psid
In which range can the temperature be selected in automatic operation?
18 to 29°C
What is used to prevent an imbalance of air flow temperature between LH and RH cooling packs outlets?
A turbulence generator
From where is the avionics rack ventilated?
A fan draws air from the cabin through a filter
When is main batteries ventilated?
On ground (when NLG down lock switch is activated)
Where is the recirculation filter installed?
Under the cabin floor
What happens if the avionic ventilating fan stops?
AVIONICS VENT will light up on the CWP
When will the avionic ventilation fan operate at full speed?
If the temperature in the avionics rack rises above 36°C
Where is cabin pressure control unit located?
Upper shelf of avionic rack
When will warning CABIN PRESS indicate?
When the cabin altitude exceeds 10000 ft of the diff press exceeds 7,5 psi
