What is the rule with assistive devices?
Even for even, odd for odd.
What does the even for even, odd for odd rule mean?
use even number of gait for even number of affected legs, and use odd number of gait for odd number of affected legs.
When do you use a 4 point gait?
severe bilateral weaknesses
When do you use a 2 point gait?
mild bilateral weaknesses
When do you use a 3 point gait?
1 unilateral weakness
If someone is 1st day post op, right knee replacement, partial weight bearing what gait assignment would you give?
3 point gait
What does going up stairs with crutches look like?
lead with good. So crutch goes first
What does going downstairs with crutches look like?
lead with bad. So crutch goes second
