A

The deliberate taking of another person’s life to relieve their suffering

What is an advanced directive/decision?

A

Where a patient gives advanced notice that they want to refuse treatment if they become unable to communicate their wishes in the future

Treatments being refused must be named in the advance decision + situations where treatments would or wouldn’t be acceptable must be named

A

Explains an individual’s wishes by talking or writing about them to anyone involved in their care or their family.

This is not legally binding - not automatically part of the law
