16
Q

What does the iliohypogastric innervate?

A

The internal oblique and transverus abdominus L1 (some of it does branch down from T12). Does provide sensory for the gluteal and pubic regions

17
Q

What does the lateral femoral cutaneous innervate?

A

The anterior and lateral thigh down to the level of the knee, L2/3. All sensory, no motor function

18
Q

What does the obturator innervate?

A

the muscles and skin of the medial thigh L2-4. Both sensory and motor. Sensory is the skin over the medial thigh.

19
Q

What does the femoral nerve innervate?

A

The muscles of the anterior thigh and the skin of the anterior thigh and medial leg. Motor and sensory. L2-4

20
Q

Where would you find the sacral plexus?

A

S1-4, though it does receive contributions from L4-5

21
Q

What does the sciatic nerve innervate?

A

Directly innervates muscles of the posterior thigh and indirectly innervates all muscles of the leg/foot. No directly sensory function though does have indirect sensory function of the lateral leg, heel and foot

22
Q

What innervates the axillary region?

A

The axillary nerve C5/6

23
Q

What is the sensory/motor function of the axillary nerve?

A

Sensory: the upper lateral cutaneous nerve of the arm, innervating the skin of the lower deltoid
Motor: the teres minor and deltoid muscles
C5/6

24
Q

What is the sensory/motor function of the musculocutaneous nerve?

A

Sensory: gives rise to the lateral cutaneous nerve of forearm and innervates the lateral aspect of the forearm
Motor: muscles in the anterior compartment of the arm (coracobrachialis, biceps and the brachialis)
C5-7

25
Q

What is the sensory/motor function of the median nerve?

A

Sensory: gives rise to the palmar cutaneous branch which innervates the lateral aspect of the palm and digital cutaneous branch -> the lateral three and a half fingers on the anterior (palmar) surface of the hand
Motor: muscles in the anterior compartment of the forearm (except the flexor carpi ulnaris and flexor digitorum), also innervate the thenar muscles and lateral two lumbricals in the hand
C6-T1

26
Q

What is the sensory/motor function of the radial nerve?

A

Sensory: innervates most of the skin of the posterior forearm, lateral aspect of the dorsum of the hand and dorsal surface of the lateral three and a half digits
Motor: triceps brachii and extensor muscles in the forearm
C5-T1

27
Q

What is the sensory/motor function of the ulnar nerve?

A

Sensory: medial one and a half fingers and the associated palm area
Motor: the flexor carpi ulnaris and medial half of the digitorum profundus, intrinsic muscles of the hand
C8-T1

28
Q

What innervate the internal oblique and transversus abdominus muscles and provide sensory innervation to skin on the superior antero-medial thigh and genital area?

A

Ilioinguinal
L1
