What is the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL)?

A

-Has symptom and DSM scales
-A syndrome is a set of problems that tend to co-occur, which the CBCL has 8 syndrome scales
-A T>70 is considered clinically significant, which is high and is greater than 98% of the comparison group
-A T=65-69 is considered sub-clinical
-The syndromes have other groupings, which include internalizing, externalizing, and the total
-For these groupings:
A T score of 60 to 63 (84th to 90th percentile) is borderline clinically significant, a T score above 63 is in the clinical range

What is the Child Depression Inventory (CDI)?

A

-Used to provide an assesment of depressive symptoms for K-12 that is taken by the client and measures the past two weeks
-Measure five factors/subscales: negative mood, interpersonal problems, ineffectiveness, anhedonia, negative self-esteem
-T scores: Clinical significance is a T score of 60 or higher
-Above 70 = Very much above average
-66 to 70 = Much above average
-56 to 60 - Slightly above average
-45 to 55 - Slightly above average
-35 to 39 - Below average
-30 to 34 = Much below average
-Below 30 - Very much below average

A

-The PCRI assesses parents’ attitudes toward parenting and toward their children
-Has seven content scales and two validity indicators

A

-Parental Support (SUP): assesses the level of emotional and social support a parent recieves
-Satisfaction with Parenting (SAT): measures the amount of pleasure and fulfillment an individual derives from being a parent
-Involvement (INV): examines the level of a parent’s interactions with and knowledge of his or her child
-Communication (COM): assesses a parent’s perception of how effectively he or she communicates with a child
-Limit Setting (LIM): focus on a parent’s experience disciplining a child
-Autonomy (AUT): assesses the ability to promote a child’s independence
-Role Orientation (ROL): examines parents’ attitudes about gender roles in parenting

What are the protocol validity indicators of the PCRI?

A

-Social desirability (SOC) are items that are rarely endorsed in a positive direction, low SOC score indicate that the parent is giving a distorted response to portray the relationship in an unrealistic positive light
-Inconsistency (INC) pair 10 highly correlated item, high scores suggest inattentive or random responding
