Purpose
Ensure timely response to allegation or issue
Identify officer and eliminate those not involved
Ensure most appropriate procedures used
What happens
Q’s to establish facts and who is involved
Determines whether developmental issues need addressing if not misconduct
Determines if necessary to Misconduct or Gross Misconduct
What can happen
No action
Management action
No requirement for a formal investigation and therefore no requirement to give written notice re the investigation. However, written notice required for outcome (do not confuse with Management advice).
Disciplinary
Misconduct or Gross misconduct
Written notice under reg 15 or 16
Written notification 4.1.5.3
Describe conduct and how that has fallen below standard
Inform if it may fall under misconduct meeting or hearing
Inform if any changes will be notified
Inform of right to seek advice
Inform if entitled to legal advice (m/gm or special) hearing
10 working days to respond
