- Oct 36: 10,000 rebels take York where Aske issues peaceful proclamation and oversees restoration of religious houses
- take pontefract castle, convincing darcy to join them
- yorkshire rebels take barnard castle and join Aske = 30,000; DoN outnumbered and forced into negotiations
- 5 articles makes HVIII angry, 24 complaints issued before rebels ask for a pardon
- Bigods rising gives HVIII an excuse to punish rebels through N; 144 executions
