1. hand wash/rub
2. introduce self to pt
3. consults pt documentation to review patient status and review wound assessment chart
4. provides explanation to py and seeks permission to perform procedure
5. checks for allergies to any solution or dressings to be used
6. cleans the dressing trolley (inside out)
7. place a rubbish bad on the appropriate side of the trolley
8. performs social hand wash/rub
9. assembles correct equipment veriefies correct solution, checks expiry date and possible holes on package
10. curtains
11. open the sterile dressing pack without contamination,
12. add solution (open away from the sterile zone)
    open the new dressing package
13. PPE (apron+gloves)
14. prepare pt and maintains privacy
15. use gloves, removes dressing
16. assess character, amount of drainage on the dressing and appearance of wound
17. discard gloves used to remove dressing
18. non-surgical aseptic hand wash (2% green for 1 min)
19. put bluey, do the 3 wet swab and 3 dry swab
20. swab the wound in 1 direction, inside to outside. leave 1 forcept in sterile zone, the other in pt zone. these 2 forcepts never touch.
21. put on new dressing
22. tape
23. leave pt comfortable
24. disposes rubbish.
25. clean the dressing trolley
26. remove apron
27. hand rub
28. document following
    - size of the wound
    - type of wound
    - colour of wound
    - odour of wound
    - drainage / exudate
    - pain
    - name of the dressing applied
    - that asesptic technique was used
    29 performs hand hygiene.
