is a type of roundworm infection. These worms are parasites that use your body as a host to mature from larvae or eggs to adult worms. Adult worms, which reproduce, can be more than a foot (30 centimeters) long.

are the drugs of choice for treatment of Ascaris infections, regardless of the species of worm. Infections are generally treated for 1–3 days. The drugs are effective and appear to have few side effects.

• Albendazole (Albenza®).
• Pyrantel pamoate (Pin-X®).
