a mineral found in many rock formation.
when sperated from rock it becomes a fluffy, fibrous material that has many uses
what was asbestos originally used in
cement production, flue pipes, gas appliance seals, roofing, cold water tanks, gutters, rainwater pipes and decorative plaster finishes
when can asbestos cause risk to health
if the asbestos fibre becomes airbone.they can be inhaled through the nose or mouth
what happens if an asbestos fibre rod is inhaled?
May work their way into the tissues of the lung and remain there for life. resulting in chronic illness
what 3 diseases are caused when breathing in asbestos fibres?
Asbestosis - scarring of the lungs leading to shortness of breath
Lung cancer
Mesothelioma - A cancer of the lining around the lungs and stomach.
whats the three type of asbestos
Chrysotile - white
Amosiste - brown (Most dangerous form)
Crocidolite - Blue (most dangerous form)
