AS350 SD2 Limitations Flashcards
What engine is in the SD2?
Honeywell LTS101-700D-2
What does EOS stand for?
Electronic Overspeed System (Power Turbine)
What is the EOS control speed set to?
109% NP
When an overspeed is detected, what does the EOS do?
When an overspeed is detected, controller actuates a solenoid activated air valve to reduce fuel flow to a minimum value
What is the maximum gross weight internal?
4961 lbs
What is the absolute power on VNE?
155 its at 0 pressure altitude (red line)
At higher altitudes, decrease by 3 kts/1000’
How does cold weather affect power on VNE?
If OAT is below -30, decrease calculated VNE by 10 kts
What is the power off VNE?
125 kts @ 0 pressure altitude (red line with white hatching)
higher altitudes decrease by 3 kgs/1000’)
How does cold weather affect power off VNE?
If OAT is below -20, decrease calculated VNE by 20 kts (maintain above 65 kts though)
What is the maximum altitude?
17,500’ Pressure Altitude
What are the OAT limitations for operating?
Minimum -40 degrees, maximum ISA +35 limited to +50 degrees
What are the power on NR limitations?
Power on, ground @ flat pitch
380 +/-5
Power on, stabilized flight
390 +4/-5
What are the power off NR limitations?
320-430 (yellow arc)
When does the low rotor horn sound?
Below 360 (continuous)
When does the overspeed horn sound?
Above 410 (intermittent)
What is the maximum NR for operating the rotor brake?
170 (white triangle)
What is the maximum torque when airspeed is lower than 40 kts?
Max continuous 100% (yellow arc)
What is the torque transient?
107% for 10 seconds (red triangle)
What is the maximum torque when airspeed is equal to or above 40 kts?
94% (green arc)
What is the N1 transient?
red line to red triangle for 10 seconds
(up to 107.2%)
What is the N1 maximum takeoff?
Yellow arc for 5 minutes
(up to 106.6%)
What is the N1 maximum continuous?
green arc
(up to 104.8%)
Are there cold weather limitations to the N1?
In OAT below 0 degrees, reduce N1 takeoff limit by 1% for every 5 degrees below 0 degrees
What is the maximum T4 during start?
Up to the red triangle (944 degrees)
What is the transient T4?
Red line to red triangle for 30 seconds
(923-944 for 30 seconds)
What is the takeoff T4?
Yellow arc for 5 minutes
(845-923 for 5 minutes)
What is the maximum continuous N2?
110.8%
