Article 1- Section 1
All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the US, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.

Article 1- Section 2
House of Representatives:
- Members chosen every 2 years
- Voted by people of the states
- Largest chamber
- Must meet qualification in order to run
Article 1- Section 3
Senate:
-2 senators per state
-They are elected every 6 years
1 senator= 1 vote
Article 1- Section 4
Congress:
-Meet once a year
(first monday of December): unless they, by law, appoint a different day
-Rules on holding elections
Article 1- Section 5
Congress:
- Rules are determined by each house
- Can punish a member and/or can expel them by 2/3 vote - Can not adjourn for more than 3 days
- Can only meet in designated chamber
Article 1- Section 6
- Congress receives compensation (paid) from the treasury of the United States.
- Can not be arrested while in session
- exception: treason, treason and breach of the peace
Article 1- Section 7
- Bills relating to $ come from the House of Representatives
- Senate can propose or concur with the amendments or bills
Article 1- Section 8
Congress:
- Collects taxes and pays the debts and provides for the common defense and general welfare of the US
- Uniformity

- Raise, Make, and Borrow money
- Regulate commerce
- Unify and Expand Country
- Prepare and Declare War
- Create the Federal Judiciary
