Arteries (Heart) Flashcards
What are the blood supplies of the heart?
a. Right coronary arteries
b. Left coronary arteries
What are the branches of the ascending aorta?
i. Right coronary artery
ii. Left coronary artery
F: right coronary artery
provides blood supply of right atrium and ventricle
Where does the right coronary artery arise from?
Right side of ascending aorta
Where does the right coronary artery run?
Right side of coronary sulcus
What are the branches of the right coronary artery?
1) posterior interventricular artery
2) right marginal artery
Where does the posterior interventricular artery run?
posterior interventricular sulcus
F: posterior interventricular artery
supplies blood to posterior aspect of left and right ventricles
Where does the left coronary artery arise from?
left side of ascending aorta
F: left coronary artery
provides blood supply of the left atrium and ventricles
What are the branches of the left coronary artery?
1) Anterior interventricular artery (LADA)
2) Circumflex artery
Where does the LADA run?
Runs in anterior interventricular sulcus
F: LADA
supplies blood to anterior aspect of left and right ventricles
Where does the circumflex artery run?
Runs in coronary sulcus, to left side of heart and ends in left ventricle
F: circumflex artery
(ii) F: provides blood supply to left atrium and left ventricle
