arousal Flashcards

1
Q

what is the inverted U theory

A

increases in an arousal causes an increase in performance up to an optimal point.
At the optimal point the performer will give a max level of performance.
beyond that point, performance gradually decreases.

Q

what is catastrophe theory

A

Q

why would different athletes need to maintain different arousal levels

A

different athletes have varied Zones of functioning, therefore depending on the athlete, they may need to increase/decrease their arousal. e.g an athlete who is hyper pre match will need o decrease their arousal levels.
