Q

what is drive theory?

A

shows a straight linear line relationship between arousal level and performance. As arousal levels increase so will performance levels

Q

define the inverted u hypothesis theory

A

This theory states that as arousal levels increase so will perforce levels up to an optimal point where from there, they will decrease bringing down your performance.

Q

what does it mean if you have a narrow attention span?

Q

define chocking

A

in sports, choking is the failure of a person, or persons, to act or behave as anticipated or expected. This can occur in a game or tournament that they are strongly favored to win, or in an instance where they have a large lead that they squander in the late stages of the event.

Q

what is the Catastrophe Theory?

A

It is not a regular curve, that once the arousal levels have gone beyond the optimal point, any further increase could lead to a sudden drop in performance levels, appose to the steady drop in ‘U’.
