What Information are persons with a firearms required to give when requested by constable.

Can you fire at offender when there is no longer a threat to life?
No
There is no justification for firing at offender when no longer a threat to life.
What action must incident controller take when discharge of a firearm involving death or injury occurs.
Take control of scene.
Ensure first aid.
Manage scene.
Inform District Commander.
When must a TOR report be submitted in relation to police use of firearms?
Presentation of firearm.
Discharge.
Unintentional discharge.
Destruction of animal.
Who enters a TOR when use of firearm results in death or injury?
Supervisor.
Conditions to be satisfied before use of firearm.
Delay - it must be clear that further delay in apprehending offender would be dangerous or impractical.
Arrest offender - if cannot be delayed without danger to other people.
Prevent escape - flight or escape cannot be reasonably prevented in less violent manner.
In general warning shots should not be fired, however in special circumstances if fired they should be:
Asked to surrender and if not the Clearly aimed as warning shot.
Unintentional discharge of firearm may occur through.
Operator error
Mechanical fault.
