Arm & Elbow Flashcards
Biceps Brachii Origin
Origin: SHORT HEAD: tip of coracoid process of scapula
LONG HEAD: Supraglenoid tubercle of scapula
Biceps Brachii Insertion
Insertion: Radial Tuberosity and bicipital aponeuorsis
Biceps Brachii Action
Action: Supinates forearm and when it is supinated, flexes elbow. Also flexes shoulder joint, short head resists
Biceps Brachii Innervation
Innervation: Musculocutaneous nerve (C5, C6)
Brachialis Origin
Origin: distal half of anterior surface of humerus
Brachialis Insertion
Insertion: coronoid process and tuberosity of ulna
Brachialis Action
Action: flexes elbow joint in all positions
Brachialis Innervation
Innervation: Musculocutaneous C5, C6
Coracobrachialis Origin
Origin: Tip of coracoid process of scapula
Coracobrachialis Insertion
Insertion: Middle third of medial surface of humerus
Coracobrachialis Action
Action: Helps flex and adduct shoulder joint, resist dislocation
Coracobrachialis Innervation
Innervation: Musculocutaneous nerve C5,C6,C7
Triceps Brachii Origin
Origin: LONG HEAD: infraglenoid tubercle of scapula
LATERAL HEAD: posterior surface of humerus, superior to radial groove
MEDIAL HEAD: posterior surface of humerus, inferior to radial groove
Triceps Brachii Insertion
Insertion: proximal end of olecranon of ulna and fascia of forearm
Triceps Brachii Action
Action: Chief extensor of elbow. LONG HEAD: extends and adducts.
