3 types of friendship
A
utility, pleasure, perfect

A
- based on advantage
- friendship ends when the utility ends (no more gains)
- primarily old people have friendships based on utility

Pleasure
A
- based on a shared passion/interest
- ends when passion changes
- usually young people have friendships based on passion (passions change all the time)

Perfect
A
- based on goodness + similarity of goodness
- long lasting because goodness is fairly permanent (ex: if you donate to poverty, you wont stop donating)
- perfect friendships are forever
- utility friendship because –> you are friends with each other, keep doing nice thing, other person does nice things, you both keep on getting better and better
