Categorical statement which generalizes an opinion about human nature
Anecdote
Very brief story told to illustrate a point (the letter that lebron wrote)
Claim
The main point of the argument (anything)
Concession
An acknowledgement or admission
Admit
Conclusion
That which the premises allegedly support
Data
Evidence supporting the claim (examples you give in an essay)
Fallacy
Use of faulty logic or poor arguments
Implication (to imply)
A logical relation (speakers imply)
Inference
Reasoning from factual knowledge or evidence (listeners or readers infer)
Qualify
To modify, limit, or restrict
Rebuttal
The act of offering a contrary argument
Refute
To successfully argue against an argument (comes after a rebuttal, shut down someone’s argument)
Ethos
Appeal of speaker or writer to his or her own credibility (experience)
Logos
Appeal to logic
Pathos
Appeal to emotion
