Context
The context of an argument consists of the background information and setting in which the argument is put forward.
Target
The claim or point of view to which the argument responds.
Assumtion
A proposition that is presumed to be true in the absence of proof or evidence.
Enthymeme
An incompletely stated argument where the unstated or missing parts, which may be a premise or conclusion, is implicitly taken for granted.
Missing premises
An argument has missing or unstated premises if there is a proposition P such that the omission of P creates a logical gap in the argument.
Missing conclusion
An argument has a missing or unstated conclusion if there is a proposition P such that P is unstated but implied by the other propositions in a context that contains an argument.
