A

  • completely disagree (after saying facts no way it is true)
  • say their arguments are irrelevant
  • refute their point by giving cons (the alternatives have problem (too many complaints/ have to live in hospital/ takes too much time)

  • gets the reader’s attention, convinces the reader that the topic is important, and leads the reader to the thesis statement:
  • hook -> a famous quote, a story, a surprising fact, or a statistic about the issue
  • background information-> explains the issue, its importance
  • thesis statement-> this new theory argues that healing is at our fingertips: we can be healthy by doing … on a regular basis (point of view without explaining)
