Area and perimeter of trapezium Flashcards
How is the area trapezium related to the parallelogram?
The area of a trapezium is half the area of the parallelogram
The base of the parallelogram is equal to the sum of the parallel sides of the trapezium
How we find the perimeter of the trapezium?
We add the 4 sides of the trapezium
12 cm + 10 cm + 13 cm + 15 cm = 50 cm
How do we identify the height of a trapezium
The height is at right angled to both of the parallel sides
12 cm is the height
How do we find the area of a trapezium
We first add the 2 paerallel sides
Multiply this to the height
Divide this by 2 or multiply by half
0.5 * (13 cm + 17 cm ) * 12 cm = 180 cm2
What is the area of the trapezium?
0.5 * (8 cm + 11 cm) * 6 cm = 57 cm2
What is the area of the trapezium?
0.5 * (18 cm + 24 cm) * 13 cm = 273 cm2
What is the perimeter of the trapezium?
24 cm + 14 cm + 6 cm + 14 cm = 58 cm
What is the area of the trapezium?
0.5 * (24 cm + 6 cm) * 11 cm = 165 cm2
What is the perimeter of the trapezium?
9 cm + 20 cm + 21 cm + 16 cm = 66 cm
What is the area of the trapezium?
0.5 * (9 cm + 21 cm) * 16 cm = 240 cm2
