When does a psychologist renew their license?

A

(A) On or before 08/31 each even-numbered year,
-active license holder register according to board format
(name, address, license number, and continuing education) section 4732.141
- pay to the board a biennial registration fee:
(1) From the effective date of this amendment through June 30, 2016, $350;
(2) From July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2020 $360
(3) July 1, 2020, and thereafter three hundred $365

  • 1st time license holder:
  • On even # yr register on/before 9/13 of next even # yr

B Notification

A

(B) Before 08/01 of each even-numbered year, the board shall send a notice to each license holder, whether a resident or not, at the license holder’s last provided official mailing address,

  • continuing education must be completed by 8/31 and the -biennial registration form and fee 9/31
  • license automatically expire if any of the following are not received on or before the thirtieth day of September of a renewal year :
    (1) The biennial registration fee;
    (2) The registration form;
    (3) A report of compliance with continuing education requirements.

Within five years thereafter, the board may reinstate any expired license upon payment of the current registration fee and a penalty fee established by the board, not to exceed $250, and receipt of the registration form

-If on active duty- The board may by rule waive the payment of the registration fee and completion of the continuing psychology education

An individual who has had a license placed on retired status under section 4732.142 of the Revised Code may seek reinstatement of the license in accordance with rules adopted by the board.

ORC 4732.17 Actions against applicants or license holders

The board can take many actions against a license holder or applicant. Name 6?

A

1) Refuse to issue a license to an applicant;
(2) Issue a reprimand to a license holder;
(3) Suspend the license of a license holder;
(4) Revoke the license of a license holder;
(5) Limit or restrict the areas of practice of an applicant or a license holder;
(6) Require mental, substance abuse, or physical evaluations, or any combination of these evaluations, of an applicant or a license holder;
(7) Require remedial education and training of an applicant or a license holder.

(D) When it revokes the license of a license holder under division (C)(4) of this section, the board may specify that the revocation is permanent. An individual subject to permanent revocation is forever thereafter ineligible to hold a license, and the board shall not accept an application for reinstatement of the license or issuance of a new license.
