Definition: the making and use of tools, machines, or techniques in order to solve a problem or perform a specific task or to apply tools and knowledge to meet your needs.
Examples: clothes, shovels, cars
What are artifacts?
Definition: a human made object
Examples: jewelry, tools, weapons
What is prehistory?
Definition: period of time BEFORE people had a common system of writing which is divided into two eras
What is the Paleolithic Age?
Definition: Old Stone Age which was from 2.5 million BCE to 8,000 BCE
What is the Neolithic Age?
Definition: New Stone Age which was from 8,000 BCE to 3,000 BCE
What are hominids?
Definition: creatures that walk upright on two feet
Examples: modern humans
What is collective learning?
Definition: the ability to learn and share knowledge learned with other humans
What are hunter gatherers?
Definition: members of a society where food is obtained by fishing, hunting, and foraging

What is migration?
Definition: moving from one place to another.
What is adapting?
Definition: the ability to change your behavior in order to survive in a new situation or environment.
Examples: wearing a coat when it gets cold, learning how to hunt differently from forest to grassland
