Oral tradition:

Artifact:
An object made by humans which has historical importance.
Prehistory:
History of humans before the development of writing.
Excavate:
The process of digging up remains from the past.
Primary source:
Information recorded at the time an event happens.
Secondary source:
Information recorded long after an event.
Fossil:
Remains or imprint of a human, animal, plant, and an insect.
Megalith:
A large stone used in prehistoric buildings.
Sarcophagus:
A stone coffin.
Kitchen midden:
Trash left by people from the past.
Radiocarbon dating:
A system to date and determine the age of an object.
Archaeology:
The study and recovery of remains from the past.
