To Send
Mandar and Enviar are practically interchangeable when they are used to send letters, packages, emails , texts or messages.
Mandar is used also when you force, order or mandate someone to do something.
He sent ( mandó )the soldiers into battle.
To step down / Or to go down / descend / to alight from a vehicle / to get off
Go down to reception and ask the concierge.
Could you come down to the basement?
Get off at the next station, and you are downtown.
Bajar
Baje a recepción y pregunte al conserje.
Podrías bajar al sótano? (SO-tanoh)
Baja en la siguiente estación y ya estás en el centro. (see-YEN-Tay)

Note, it seems that regresarse is rarely used, and both mean the same.

Al followed by an infinitive is usually the approximate equivalent of “upon,” “on” or “when” followed by the gerund (the “-ing” form of a verb) in English.

The neighborhood committee endorsed the city’s plan.
You have to study a lot to pass that math test.

It would be nice if you’d reply to my letters sometime.
Contestar and Responder can be used interchangeably , except Responder has other meanings relating to “response”, whereas Contestar only relates to answering questions.
Porqué no contestas la pregunta? —
Sería bonito que me contestaras las cartas alguna vez.
