Chain isomer
A molecule that contains the same molecular formula but has a different arrangement of the carbon chain
Functional Group Isomer
A molecule with the same molecular formula but different functional groups (cycloalkane Vs alkene)
Thermal Cracking
1000⁰C and 70 atm. Makes alkenes, used for polymers.
Catalytic cracking
Zeoilite catalyst and 450⁰C, making motor fuel and aromatic hydrocarbons.
Complete combustion
Burning a substance completely in oxygen to produce CO₂ and H₂O
Global warming
Caused by release of CO₂
Incomplete combustion
Burning a substance in a limited supply of oxygen, producing Solid Carbon and Gaseous Carbon Monoxide (Toxic)
