  • humans= unique and must be valued as such
  • human consciousness includes an awareness of oneself in the content other people.

  • views the person as a active agent, able to control and determine their own behaviour
  • the subjective experience of a person is of value and importance
  • PCT is applicable today
  • promotes free will as opposed to determinism
