What are the assumptions of the psychodynamic approach?
A
- Behaviour is due to unconsious motives
- Our relationship with our parents and childhood conflicts create our behaviour and personality

A
- all humans are born a blank slate
- all behaviour is learnt from the environment and therefore can be unlearnt
- free will is not possible

- All humans can determine their behaviour and have free will
- A persons subjective experience and understanding of the world is more important in understanding the person than objective reality

- It’s our internal mental processes that affect our behaviour and these should be studied scientifically allowing inferences to be made
- the mind works like a computer with inputs, processes, and outputs
