Q

Why were Wundts methods unreliable?

A

it is because they relied on nonobservable responses and as he relied on the participant to report on their experiences they could lie which effects the results he would get

Q

What experiment did Pavlov do?

A

Pavlov did an experiemtn on dogs where he would get the dog to associate a bell ringing with being fed which would lead to the dog to salivate, then when the dog was conditoned if he rang the bell the dog would salivate on this command without food being present.

Q

What exepriment did FP Skinner do?

A

He created the Skinner Box. which would have a rat press a button and it would either be shocked or fed food, and also changed number of times it had to be pressed to be fed or zapped to see how long it towuld take for the rat to stop pressing the button.

Q

What is negative punishment?

A

when an organism has something taken away like a teenager having their phone removed.

17
Q

Why is over reliance an issue with operant and classical conditionings?

A

people are over relying on the use of animals in research and we can’t fully compare humans to animals

18
Q

Why is limited perspective on behaviour an issue when it comes to classical and operant conditioning?

A

ignores other levels of explanation such as cognitve and emotional factors that coudl lead to a person or animal doing or not doing something.
