Focuses on unconscious/inner conflicts from inner childhood experiences
What is evolutionary approach?
Examines natural selection in regards to traits & their perpetuation
Uses evolutionary ideas (adaptation, reproduction, and natural selection) as the basis for explaining specific human behaviors
What is humanistic approach?
How we meet needs (love, acceptance, achieve self fulfillment)

Considered the natural selection of adaptive traits, genetic predisposition responding to environments, brain mechanisms, and hormone influences.

How the mind encodes, processes, stores & retrieves info.
What is the biopsychosocial approach?
Focuses on biology/physiology underlying health
What is the sociocultural approach?
considered the presence of others, cultural, societal, & family expectations, peer/group influences, and compelling models
