What do you do if high in the hold?
A
Request descent as soon as possible. Don’t report ready for the approach unless you can get down. Request descent in the hold. 4 mins per hold, descent at 5-700fpm= 2000-2800 feet.

What are you going to do prior to the hold?
A
Set correct freq
Assess circuit direction and min alt
Assess entry type, and allowances for angle
Assess wind effect- holding or non holding side and the associated effects

What will you say when asked if ready for the approach?
A
Report ready. You will be told either,
“Rodger, next time over the beacon, cleared NDB/DME approach Rwy 26, report beacon outbound” or
“Rodger, cleared NDB/DME approach Rwy 26 report beacon outbound”
