Define aim
The aim is the whole object of the exercise. It is the expression of what you are trying to chief
Commanders intent; this is what you are tasked to do what the situation may require of you. What the desired end state or outcome will be.
Constraints; a constraint is any limitation given to you by the commanders intent or out of the information you have received. for example only three staff to execute a search warrant
Define factor
A factor is a fact, influence or circumstance contributing to a result. For each factor and each deduction ask so what? And therefore? Until nothing more can be drawn out of them Common factors include; Human resources Persons to be policed Ground Time Area Climate Administration and Logistics you know Communications Course open to persons being policde Law
Define courses open
What could be done, bearing in mind the factors and the deductions made from the factors?
The course open should identify the options They have available to them and the effect any of these options would have on the police.
Discuss plan
Having selected the best course, the final step is planning. The plan is the logical result of the appreciation. The common plan for me to police uses the GSMEAC framework Ground Situation, Mission, Execution, Administration and logistics, Communications
